Bhavpreet Ghai has spent more than 12 years in the front-line trenches with her camera, working on several successful projects across fashion, portraits and documentaries, all around the world from Mumbai to Melbourne.
After studying and working in Photography, Advertising & Graphic Design in Delhi from 2000 to 2003, Bhavpreet discovered her love for working with the film medium, and moved to Mumbai in 2003 to join the 3D animation film industry.
Over the duration of four years, Bhavpreet worked with various international projects, primarily as a lighting artist, until a Masters in Creative Media Studies, at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), took her across the globe to Australia in 2007.
It was the artisan lanes and bohemian walls of Melbourne that reinvigorated Bhavpreet’s insatiable passion for photography, and deepened her desire to keep exploring, learning and nurturing her understanding of the delicate dance between light and shadow, and she ultimately found a firm sense of belonging in a full-time career as a photographer.
Over a decade on, Bhavpreet continues to find great satisfaction in striving to expand her journey towards infinite visual wisdom. As a commercial photographer, Bhavpreet splits her time between travelling far and wide on photography expeditions, and working in Mumbai where she also happens to be Department Head of Photography at FX School.
